So the worker don't want to not harm the locals, it was left burning supposing that it would stop burning in one or two days. But workers calculations were wrong and the flame is there even now while the fire sometimes reaches more than 3 feet height.
The diameter of the hole is about 200 ft and its depth is 65 ft..

Yasur is an active volcano on the Island of Vanuatu.
